A bargus is a sniglet used to describe the perpetually smeared spot on a windshield that cannot be cleared by the windshield wiper. The term was coined by Rich Hall in the early 1980s on a cable television show called, Not Necessarily the News. Hall co-wrote and starred in the satirical comedy series from 1983 until 1990 where he coined the term "sniglet" to describe newly created words.
