What do we mean by currencies?

Money or other items used to facilitate transactions.

Wiener, the term is meaningless- one might say that inflation has ruined its value by being used too much. A currency whose value is set by the currency markets; money whose exchange rate relative to other currencies is determined mainly or entirely by unrestricted trading in the currency.
