What do we mean by muscimol?

A hallucinogenic alkaloid present in the fly agaric and other related fungi; 3-hydroxy-5-aminomethylisoxazole.

The true chemical in toadstool mushrooms that makes you trip. It is converted from Ibotenic Acid in the body (or through a chemical reaction called decarboxylation) and causes vivid dreams and/or slight hallucinations. Muscimol generally takes two hours to effect the body once consumed because of the conversion from Ibotenic Acid. During this period, one would commonly fall asleep and have vivid dreams.
