The Israeli-controlled Municipality has not granted any permits for events to take place there. so, of course, i went to their website to see what was going on because i knew i'd be in ramallah and i thought i would see if any activities were going on nearby. all i found on all the calendar thus far is going on in paris, not palestine. but what was really shocking was that the organizers of this conference-on culture-are clearly not interested in the boycott campaign as they have decided that israeli terrorist cinema-and here i mean this quite literally: the cinema created by an israeli terrorist who participated int he mass murder of palestinians in shatila refugee camp and the surrounding neighborhood-counts as al quds culture. here is an screen shot from their website (or you can click the link to see it): what i want to know is this: why is it that they are ignoring a cultural boycott and acting like israeli terrorist even have a culture (or if they do, of course, it is stolen like everything else there)? this is about in english: Film review: "Waltz with Bashir" and for those who need a reminder of why boycott is a necessary form of resistance, here is what israeli terrorists did today with their terrorist soldiers in relation to the al quds festival: ❋ Unknown (2009)

| March 7, 2009 hip hop for gaza last week when there was a strike i was not able to get to the hip hop for gaza concert in ramallah. but the following night was my dear friend ayah's birthday. it was a sunday, and i had school that day and on monday as well, but she had asked if i would come down for her birthday, so i decided to surprise her. i left right after school last sunday and got to beit lahem around 6 pm. the hip hop gaza concert was the same night in beit lahem so we all went to the concert. the concert featured a number of rappers from outside palestine and in each location it toured there were local rappers. the show opened and closed with rappers from deheishe refugee camp who were the highlight of the show. the group g-town from the refugee camp shufat in al quds was also fabulous (i hear they are giving another beit lahem concert for international women's day in beit lahem tomorrow). you can click on the hip hop for gaza link above and download some of their music as well as the music of other rappers from jenin and al quds. one of the rappers who performed was an iranian rapper from sweden, ❋ Unknown (2009)

i also find it interesting that none of the reports on hillary's visit to ramallah today said nothing of the fact that at the precise time she was meeting with abbas and co. that israeli terrorists were busy bombing rafah with american f-16s and bombs (and, in fact, we heard those planes overhead in nablus and i am sure she could hear them in ramallah as well) as ma'an news reported: ❋ Unknown (2009)
