What do we mean by shuriken?

A dart or throwing blade, sometimes with multiple points, used as a weapon by ninja (or samurai).

Each tradition has a specific specification ect one style would have 15cm Bo shuriken, another tradition would have 18 cm. Contrary to popular belief, Shuriken were not coated in poison. There was no need-Poison was dangerous to carry on sharp objects and difficult to aquire, and usually did not work quicly. Rust was the most dangerous aspect of a Shuriken-as throwing objects they were intended to distract and slow down as a ninja escaped ect, and would not fataly wound an enemy, but could penetrate. If rust got into the cut, it could be lethal. It is ironic that you can buy Shuriken through postal order these days-they used to be fuedal ninja famalies most closest guarded secrets.
