A side burn (not to be confused with the popular 1960s hairstyle of the same name) is a situation in which the paper on a cigarette burns more heavily or completely on one side. It occurs most often on self-rolled and marijuana cigarettes. Side-burned cigarettes are rarely represented in the mass media.
